E3 - Energy and Efficiency with Emily is building science, architecture, and female entrepreneurship. Welcome to Season 2: I’m really proud to highlight the awesome stories of other women in the field of construction and related trades. It’s fun to share their stories, to be impowered by the women who are already doing it and to inspire more women to join in. The construction industry has a major labor shortage, and we have a large population with a lot of debt who have never considered a trade. There are a million reasons why you might be happier in a trade related field - everything from pride of craftsmanship to potentially high earning wages that make it a lucrative and possibly debt free industry. So today i had the pleasure of talking with Kiyona and Saleha, two young and exciting women in construction here in Maine. It’s interesting to hear their backgrounds, their stories, and their encouragement for the construction industry to get in front of more women, minorities, or any other young person to talk about how exciting it can be to work in our field.
