E3 - Energy and Efficiency with Emily is all about building science, architecture, and female entrepreneurship: Season 4: On this special addition of the podcast I had someone reach out to me with a question that we frequently get asked. First, what can be done to take a traditional or code built home to a PGH in a incremental way that makes sense for the budget. That’s a great PGH question as it relates directly to the fact that everyone has a budget, and our energy programs don’t always address that. But how does a homeowner know what choices should be made. That’s directly followed up by “Why should I hire a Design Pro” trying to help understand the value of hiring someone to help them through the process and make those wise decisions. Since it’s a common question, I thought, instead of a 30 minute call with the person submitting the request, I would get together 4 pros and we could hash out those details. Why it’s important, what is the value, and how that person has a direct impact on helping you narrow down the choices you should make when making any decision, let alone efficiency decisions to improve the health, safety, and durability as it relates to your home.
